Pharrel does HP

New spot by the hippie (I know that was an easy one) folks @ Goodbye. Tight motion design by Motion Theory. Very nice. (yes I’m late on this one, but who cares).
“Intricately choreographed and shot in a single continuous take, the spots endeavour to capture both the content and the unique style of each individual.” >> This totally justifies the Intergalactic Artist signature at the end…

The evil twist of Graffiti

Tag has always been considered as the evil branch of Graffiti. “Yeah, you understand, there’s less colour, less character, just less feeling, it’s less creative…” Whatever. I love tag. It’s rough. It’s about getting up, quick and clean. It’s a small “schnapps” disturbing your digestion of the urban environment.
Anyway, a book just came out. Just about tag. 300 taggers.

How Nike turned young (white?) skate kids into brand’s ambassadors?

This is a very good article by adbusters. Read it. You’ll learn something. Maybe. If I do agree with some points, overall I ‘m not convinced. This article points out that limited editions are bad, that Nike is abusing “poor” and “young” sneakerhead/skaters… But I don’t see any difference between the “kicksaddict”and any collectors. A car collector, if into Aston martin, will kill for a DB5. But no one is calling him names… He is just passionate. The only difference is the media hype around this industry right now. But everything runs in cycle. This trend like others will die. Well actually, it’s already dying. Not business wise, the alternative sneaker industry is going great (by alternative, I mean non athletics). But look at how many people are in this game now. How many models are coming out now? From how many brands? It’s crazy.
I don’t consider myself a collector. I just like rocking fresh kicks.
And Nike is the best at doing them!
